Blackstone Makes Minority Investment in Marlin Equity Partners

On May 16, 2019, Marlin Equity Partners, LLC announced that Blackstone’s Strategic Capital Group has made a strategic minority investment in the firm.

Pursuant to the transaction, Blackstone’s Strategic Capital Group (“Blackstone”), has made a passive minority investment in Marlin Equity Partners, LLC (“Marlin”). Further terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Marlin, headquartered in California, is a global private equity investment firm that specializes in industries including software, healthcare IT, technology, tech-enabled services, and industrial technology. Marlin has $6.7 billion of capital under management.

Blackstone is part of Blackstone Alternative Asset Management L.P. (“BAAM”), the hedge fund division of publicly traded alternative investment firm, Blackstone Group L.P. (NYSE: BX). BAAM has approximately $80 billion in assets under management.
