Blackstone Acquires Minority Stake in GI Partners

On March 6, 2019, GI Partners announced that funds affiliated with the Blackstone Group L.P. had acquired a minority stake in the firm.

The investment in GI Partners was made by funds affiliated with the Strategic Capital Group of the Blackstone Group L.P. (“Blackstone”). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
GI Partners is a San Francisco based private investment firm that has raised over $17 billion in capital to invest in private equity, real estate and data infrastructure strategies.

Blackstone (NYSE: BX) is an alternative asset management and financial services firm. Blackstone’s hedge fund solutions platform, Blackstone Alternative Asset Management, has approximately $78 billion in assets under management across various businesses, including a customized solutions business, a special situations platform, a hedge fund seeding business, and a business that purchases stakes in established alternative asset managers.
