On May 20, 2022, Almanac Realty Investors announced an agreement to acquire a minority ownership stake in Waterton.
Under the terms of the transaction, a fund managed by Almanac Realty Investors (“Almanac”) will acquire a minority ownership stake in Waterton. Waterton will maintain control of its day-to-day business and operations. Further terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Almanac, based in New York, is an investment firm specializing in real estate. Almanac is a division of Neuberger Berman. Almanac’s current portfolio companies control $36.5 billion of real estate assets in aggregate.
Waterton, based in Chicago, is a real estate investor and property management company. Berkshire Global Advisors advised Waterton on the transaction.
