On January 4, 2023, Alera Group Wealth Services announced its acquisition of The Ascent Group.
Under the terms of the transaction, Alera Group Wealth Services (“Alera”) acquired The Ascent Group (“Ascent”) and two affiliates: Summit Group (“Summit”) and Walsh & Nicholson Financial Group (“Walsh”). Summit and Walsh are helmed by Jeff Silverman and Brian Walsh, respectively. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Alera, based in Deerfield, Illinois, is a wealth management firm offering financial planning, wealth management, and investment services to families and individuals.
Ascent is a Virginia Beach, Virginia based financial advisory firm with 30 advisors. Ascent manages approximately $2.5 billion in client assets.
