Alantra to Acquire Strategic Stake in Access Capital Partners

December 31, 2018

On December 20, 2018, Alantra announced that it had entered into an agreement to acquire a strategic stake in Access Capital Partners.

Under the terms of the agreement, Alantra will pay €19 million in cash for a 24.5% interest in Access Capital Partners (“Access Capital”) from OP Financial Group. Alantra will then have an option to purchase OP Financial Group’s remaining interest, which would bring Alantra’s interest to 49% and result in Alantra being Access Capital’s only strategic shareholder over time. The current executive partners will maintain control of Access Capital. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2019 and is subject to local regulatory approval.

Access Capital is a private asset manager with €8.8 billion of cumulated assets raised. Access offers clients exposure to small and mid-market buy outs, infrastructure, and private debt.

Alantra is an investment banking and asset management firm which offers clients access to private equity, active funds, private debt, infrastructure, real estate and private wealth management. With its stake in Access Capital, Alantra will have over €11 billion in assets under management.
