Abraaj Capital Acquires Amundi’s North African PE Business

On August 28, 2011 Abraaj Capital announced its acquisition of the North African private equity business of French asset manager Amundi.

On August 28, 2011 Dubai-based Abraaj Capital announced its acquisition of the North African private equity business of Amundi, a French asset manager jointly owned by Société Général and Crédit Agricole.  Under the terms of the agreement, Abraaj will take over management of the $161 million SGAM Al Kantara Fund as well as acquire Amundi’s stake in the fund, a buyout and expansion capital fund focused on small and mid-cap investment opportunities in North Africa..  Abraaj Capital is a private equity and alternative asset management group based in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia with approximately $6.2 billion in assets under management.
