1251 Capital Acquires Majority Stake in Ziegler Capital

On December 9, 2019, 1251 Capital Group announced an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Ziegler Capital Management.

Under the terms of the agreement, 1251 Capital Group (“1251”) will acquire a majority stake in Ziegler Capital Management (“ZCM”). 1251’s management will become shareholders of ZCM with their representatives becoming part of ZCM’s Board of Directors post-closing. ZCM’s current management team will continue to manage day-today operations and control the investment process. The transaction is expected to close during the first quarter of 2020, subject to customary closing conditions and client consents. Further terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

1251, based in Boston, is a financial services holding company specializing in asset management and insurance.

ZCM, based in Chicago, is an asset management firm that specializes in equity and fixed income markets. As of September 30, 2019, ZCM has $10.5 billion total adjusted assets under management.
